Given the crucial role entrusted to Information and Documentation Centers in Libyan universities—primarily, the optimal use of information technology to facilitate the preservation and documentation of information and to obtain necessary statistics in a timely manner—the Information and Documentation Center at the University of Gharyan strives to improve performance, facilitate the planning process, and contribute to the implementation of these plans to achieve the university's strategic goals.
The Center also seeks to provide the best services to the university's offices, administrations, and affiliated colleges by supervising various software systems, managing the granting of user permissions, and overseeing the university's official website. This includes publishing news, activities, and scientific publications in accordance with quality and performance improvement requirements.

About the Center
The Information and Documentation Center was established by virtue of former Popular Committee Decision No. 22 of 2008 concerning the organizational structure of universities and higher education institutions, which stipulated its direct affiliation to the University President. This Center is considered a cornerstone of the university due to its vital role in formulating plans and contributing to their implementation to achieve the university's strategic objectives.
The Center specializes in the following:
- Participating in the proposal of plans designed to meet the community's needs for various specializations, in line with its developmental directions.
- Systematically preserving and documenting information and statistics to ensure they are easily accessible when needed.
- Collecting information and data pertaining to all university activities and affairs, and preparing the necessary statistics thereof.
- Preparing brochures, bulletins, and guides related to the university's activities.
- Providing the university and relevant authorities with the various data and statistics they require on students, faculty members, projects, equipment, and other matters.

Excellence in the field of information documentation through a modern system with international standards, serving the university's vision and goals.
Mission
To meet the university's need for accurate reports on all statistics in record time, which contributes to making sound decisions in the most efficient manner. This also includes providing the necessary support for the digital transformation project in cooperation with other university departments.
